Our free Ford Fan Day gives you the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at our 107,000-seat venue while enjoying music, activities, giveaways, food and INEX U.S. Legends International racing on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You can tour the media center, garages, owner’s suite, press box and campgrounds, have their photo taken in Victory Lane, see Fire and Safety Team demonstrations on pit road and walk the speedway’s 1.5-mile tri-oval track. You'll also be able to learn more about our track with General Manager Mark Simendinger during “Ask the GM” question-and-answer sessions and talk racing with local media during insightful Racing Roundtable chats.
The Raceway Ministries Kids Zone will be filled with activities such as face painting, Hot Wheels car racing, a pit stop tire challenge, inflatables and petting zoo with 20 animals from Honey Hill Farms.
INEX U.S Legends International racing will take to the paved quarter-mile track at 11 a.m., and 3 p.m. You can meet Legends drivers during an autograph session and experience the tight turns of the quarter-mile track first-hand by taking 10-lap ride-alongs in a Legends car for $50 or Bandolero car for $40. Registrations will be taken at the Legends trailer on event day.
Rising artist Andy Velo will entertain you with his sound that mixes classical country with country rock at 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. The Georgia musician scored his first radio hit in 2010 with “Hank It Up,” which reached the Top 60 on the Music Row chart. Velo has shared stages with country music giants Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith and Chris Young.
Regional attraction JetSet GetSet will bring its upbeat country music creations to the main stage at 11 a.m. The popular Indiana trio is a speedway favorite and has performed at events as far away as Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia and Tennessee.
Ford Fan Day sets the stage for the first of two Kentucky Speedway event weekends. The season opens with a NASCAR tripleheader featuring the June 29 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400, June 28 Nationwide Series Feed The Children 300 and June 27 Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225. Racing continues in September when the NASCAR Nationwide Series returns Sept. 21 for a 300-mile tilt. ARCA Racing Series (ARS) action opens the weekend with a 150-mile event on Sept. 20. The event will be the series’ first at the track since 2009 and its 20th all-time appearance on the 1.5-mile Kentucky tri-oval.
