Harley-Davidson Dealerships To Sponsor Kentucky Speedway Frank Kimmel Enduro Nationals
Harley-Davidson of Cincinnati and The Thoroughbred Harley-Davidson Shop of Florence, Ky., will be the presenting sponsors of the first-of-its kind "Frank Kimmel Enduro Nationals" at Kentucky Speedway May 26.
The event was created by eight-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion and four-time Kentucky Speedway race winner Frank Kimmel to give local racers the chance to compete at a major motorsports venue. The current event entry list stands at 115.
"I thought it was a shame that some of the great short track racers in the country would never have a chance to compete at a venue such as Kentucky Speedway," Kimmel said. "This event will feature everyday, blue collar drivers that go home at night and work on their cars. It will be cool for those drivers because, for one, we'll pay $10,000 to win and drivers can build their own car and bring it to the track."
The 150-mile, 100-lap event will contain a mandatory pit stop at Lap 50 to allow drivers to make adjustments to their cars.
Financial terms of the presenting sponsorships were not disclosed. Both dealerships will receive promotional considerations associated with the event.
