The future stars of racing will take to the Kentucky Speedway quarter-mile track this weekend for the Ninth Annual Briggs & Stratton Bandolero & RACEIVER Young Lion Nationals Sept. 2-3.

Speedway gates open at 9:00 a.m. both tomorrow and Sunday.

The Saturday schedule features an 11:00 a.m., practice session before racing begins at 1:00 p.m. Sunday also kicks off with an 11:00 a.m., practice session. Qualifying is set to begin at 1:45 p.m., and competition starts shortly thereafter.

The Bandolero is a turnkey, spec-series racer designed for drivers as young as age eight. Machines are powered by a Briggs & Stratton 570cc Vanguard engine mounted behind the driver. Small modifications have been made to allow the stock engine to generate nearly 30 horsepower.
