ARCA RE/MAX Series pole winner Vern Slagh withdrew from "The Blue Grass Quality Meats 200" at Kentucky Speedway after a conference with series officials on July 12.

The 62-year-old Slagh won his first career pole at Kentucky Speedway after turning his fastest lap at 167.629 mph (32.214 sec.) on July 11. During a standard series post-qualifying inspection, Slagh's No. 22 DJ's One-Stop Quality Car Wash Ford was determined to have right-side tires which failed to meet the minimum durometer (softness/hardness) measurement.

Slaugh will remain the official pole sitter for the race. The inside of the front row of the starting grid will remain empty on pit row. When the field moves to the green flag, Frank Kimmel, who qualified second in the No. 46 Advance Auto Parts/Pork Producers Ford, will assume the starting spot vacated by Slaugh. The new front row match-up pits Kimmel against third-place qualifier Chad Blount in the No. 77 Braun Auto Group Dodge. The two drivers that finished first and second respectively at Kentucky in "The Channel 5-155" this past May.
