Accomplished country music artist Sherrie Austin hits the B-105 Country Soundstage at Kentucky Speedway today at 5:00 p.m. to jump start the pre-race festivities for "The Channel 5-205."

Her single, "Sreets of Heaven," describes a mother's conversation with God about an ailing child and became a top-15 single, touching lives many lives along the way.

"I've had people come up to me and say, 'You know it's a sad song but it makes me feel really hopeful, it makes me feel good,'" Austin said. "People are getting something out of the song that I didn't even know was in it, and that's exciting.

"I just feel like this song is a gift. It came from a very special place. I asked, I got it, and it scares the pants off me, because now I have a responsibility of getting it out. Someone said, 'Adversity introduces us to who we really are.' As a writer, you have to live through a lot to have something to write about. I could never have written 'Streets of Heaven' before. Now I'm in the right place."

Tickets for tonight's "Channel 5-205" still remain and are available at the main speedway ticket booth between Gates 15 and 16 up to race time.
