Chad Blount saved his best for last. The rookie driver who is third in ARCA RE/MAX Series points turned in the fast lap of Friday's "Channel 5 155 Happy Hour" by topping out at 166.415 MPH (32.528 seconds) in the No. 77 Braun Auto Group Dodge.

"This is the race setup, and we went faster than we did in qualifying," Blount said. "The car's driving better. We went back to what we had when we tested here (on April 23)."

"If the track can continue to get more grip, the cars are going to run faster," Kimmel said.

Pole-sitter John Metcalf was third-fastest in practice, going 164.499 (32.891 seconds) in the No. 05 RE/MAX International Chevrolet.

A.J. Henrickson, who qualified 11th for the race, was fourth fastest in practice in the Fastenal-Engineered Components Chevrolet. Current ARCA RE/MAX Series points leader Damon Lusk was fifth in the No. 22 Dynatek-One Race America Chevrolet.
