CHARLOTTE, N.C. - NASCAR will implement three key enhancements to NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), the current NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS), and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) competition for the 2015 seasons.

Both series will compete with the knockout qualifying format currently in place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the maximum truck series field will be set at 32 and drivers' last names will be featured on the front and back windows of race machines in both series.

"Our mission of providing the best on-track product possible is always among our top objectives," Robin Pemberton, NASCAR senior vice president of competition and racing development said. "We're confident in the direction these changes will take these series."

The fastest single lap of knockout qualifying will determine the first 33 positons in NXS fields and the first 27 positions on NCWTS grids.

Remaining NXS starting positions will be filled by the next six highest ranking cars in owner points that have attempted all of the races, have not already earned a starting position through qualifying and have entered the event by the posted entry deadline. The final starting position will be awarded to the most recent eligible past champion driver. If there is no eligible past champion driver, then a seventh car will make the field based upon owner points.

The NCWTS will fill its grids with the next four highest ranking trucks in owner points that have attempted all of the races, have not already earned a starting position through qualifying and have entered the event by the posted entry deadline. The final starting position will be awarded to the most recent eligible past champion. If there is no eligible past champion driver, a fifth truck will make the field based upon owner points.

If a qualifying session is canceled because of inclement weather, each series' field will be set per the rule book with starting lineups determined by practice speeds.

You can see the new competitive elements in action during our three-race, July 9-11, 2015 weekend. The fun begins with the NCWTS UNOH 225 Thursday night, followed by a 300-mile NXS battle Friday night and our fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 Saturday in prime time.
