Kentucky Speedway and Meijer will jump start the speedway's 2004 race season on May 2, 2004, by presenting the second "Green Flag Festival" from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Meijer store at 4990 Houston Rd. in Florence, Ky.

The event is free, open to the public and will be staged in the store's Garden Center parking lot.

"We're entering our fifth anniversary year and our 'Green Flag Festival' is sure to get our season off to a great start," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. "Special thanks to Meijer and WUBE-FM B-105 for their efforts in making the event a success."

Visitors will be able to enjoy a live performance and autograph session with country music artist Rodney Atkins from 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and live music throughout the day with the Inside Out band from Augusta, Ky.

Guests also will be able to register to win the official Ford Mustang pace car for the speedway's June 19 "Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo" NASCAR Busch Series event, see ARCA RE/MAX, Indy Racing League, American Speed Association and other race machines, meet drivers, experience race simulators, take the Indy Racing League Experience Pit Stop Challenge, see a custom car display courtesy of the Squires Car Club and see Kentucky Speedway Fire and Safety vehicles.

Refreshments also will be available.
