Driving Schools Begin Revving Engines in March
Five driving schools will provide race enthusiasts with 65 opportunities to experience the high-speed thrill of stock car racing on the Kentucky Speedway 1.5-mile tri-oval this spring, summer and fall.
The Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE), Jeff Gordon Racing School, Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure, Fast Track Driving School and SpeedTech Auto Racing School will give fans a chance to ride in, drive and, in some cases, pass other students in a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series style car.
"Driving schools will run thousands of laps between March and October to give fans a taste of what professional competitors experience on our track during our race events," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. "The Jeff Gordon Racing School and SpeedTech Auto Racing Schools are the new additions to our line-up and will help bring our school activity to an all-time high."
The Jeff Gordon Racing School will be first on the track March 24-26 and the Richard Petty Driving Experience will close the school season Oct. 26-29. The RPDE will operate on 36 dates this year, the most of any school.
