SPARTA, Ky. - Members of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s "Jr. Nation" have the chance to settle in at Kentucky Speedway July 9-10 to support their driver when he fires his No. 88 engines to race a combined 600 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) miles on one of NASCAR's most challenging tracks.

The 12-time NMPA NASCAR Most Popular Driver Award winner is set to make his NXS track debut in primetime on a Friday night before locking in for his fifth  NSCS start at the venue Saturday evening.

His JR Motorsports organization will target its second consecutive June NXS victory in the Bluegrass State. Kevin Harvick notched the team's first by edging Team Penske Racing's Brad Keselowski by 0.928 of second June 27, 2014.

Earnhardt Jr., who raced to the 1998 and 1999 NXS championships, opened this season owning 23 NXS victories. He manufactured one top-five and two top-10 finishes in his first three series starts this season.

He plans to make his first 300-mile NXS experience on one of the toughest tracks in NASCAR a beneficial dress rehearsal that pushes him closer to capturing his first Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts crown.

"We can learn some extra stuff on air pressure and find some things that will help the Cup car Saturday night. (Extra track time) really helps you work on the set-up, understand adjustments and what direction the track's going to go (Saturday).

"Hopefully, we (JR Motorsports) bring fast cars down here and run well. This has been a tough track," Earnhardt Jr., said.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver rolled to his best NSCS Kentucky Speedway finish in 2012 with a fourth-place effort and started the 2013 Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts race from the pole position. He emerged from last season's 400-mile fray in fifth place.

No driver has raced to NXS and NSCS Kentucky Speedway victories on the same weekend. Kyle Busch, the only driver to own five Kentucky Speedway race victories in four different series, also stands as the lone racer to register two race victories during a single Kentucky Speedway weekend. He manufactured his first of two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) victories at the track July 7, 2011 and followed up with a NSCS triumph two days later.

Earnhardt Jr., enters Sunday's NSCS Michigan International Speedway event fifth in the series championship standings after reeling off a Talladega Superspeedway victory along with a combined seven top-five and eight top-10 finishes through 14 races.
