Fans Strike Early and Often for Sprint Cup Series Tickets
Two race fans were willing to wait three hours today to be first to reserve tickets for Kentucky Speedway's inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 400-mile spectacular coming July 9.
Roy Alfrey, 49, and Dennis Helton, 56, both of Hamilton, Ohio, arrived at the speedway's Ft. Mitchell, Ky., ticket office at 400 Buttermilk Pike at 6:00 a.m., to wait for sales to officially open.
In addition to a solid stream of phone calls to the speedway's 888-652-7223 ticket number and steady customer traffic in the speedway offices, the track's Web site attracted more than 10,000 unique visitors that generated 65,000 page views.
Tickets and reserved campsites for the historic first Sprint Cup Series event and five additional races that make up the 2011 season can be reserved now by clicking TICKETS and CAMPING. Tickets and campsites also can be reserved by phone at 888-652-7723 or by visiting the speedway ticket office at 1 Sparta Driver, Sparta, Ky., 41086 off of Interstate 71 Exit 57 and Ky. Hwy. 35 N.
