Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers to Present Major League of Monster Trucks Kentucky Speedway Event
The Major League of Monster Trucks (MLMT) announces the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers will be the presenting sponsor of its debut Kentucky Speedway event Saturday, Oct. 13.
The 27-dealer group will be offering "monster savings" in conjunction with the event by providing two MLMT tickets to potential customers that test drive any Ford vehicle from Sept. 12 to Oct. 12, 2007. Dealerships also will play host to "Bigfoot" monster truck displays during event week. Appearance dates and locations will be announced. The 8,500- to 11,000-pound trucks equipped with engines producing up to 2,200 horsepower will race side-by-side at more than 70 mph on a custom-designed dirt track with jumps, bumps and other obstacles. The night will begin with qualifying followed by three preliminary rounds of head-to-head competition before two trucks will reach the championship round.
The MLMT Kentucky field will feature an unprecedented 16 monster trucks. Fan favorites such as former world champion Avenger, driven by Jim Koehler, two-time world champion Madusa, Bigfoot, driven by veteran Dan Runte, Samson, King Krunch, Gunslinger, Raminator and the Scarlet Bandit, driven by Dawn Cretain, the mother of three daughters, will be in action during the one-night-only event.
"We're pleased to partner with the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers to promote and present our first Kentucky Speedway appearance," MLMT President Joe Froome said. "The night of family fun will spotlight the largest and best field in MLMT history. It will be a night fans will not forget."
Fans also will be treated to a freestyle motocross exhibition and ever-popular Thunder Truck competition.
"The Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers have played an integral role in helping our speedway succeed through eight seasons, so it's no surprise they've stepped forward again to support a family-oriented, first-of-its-kind event at our venue," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said.
General admission main grandstand tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children age 3 through 12. Children age 2 and younger will be admitted free and $30 reserved Bluegrass Club seats also are available.
Speedway gates will open at 3:00 p.m., MLMT qualifying will begin at 4:00 p.m., a Pit Party where fans will get a first-hand look at monster trucks and their drivers will follow at 5:00 p.m., and racing begins at 7:00 p.m. Log on to www.MLMT.com for more Major League of Monster Trucks information.
