Indie artist Josh Kelley will close out the Kentucky Speedway prerace concert schedule with an exclusive prerace performance for "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Pepsi and Edy's" fans Aug. 9.

As with his last album, "Just Say the Word," the Augusta, Ga., artist released his most recent and fourth collection, "Special Company," earlier this yeaar on his own label, DNK Records.

Kelley displays his versatility on the new release through 14 tracks he personally wrote and produced. Many songs in the new collection were inspired by his wife, actress Katherine Heigl, who is referred to as Katie. Performing since his college days, Kelley has produced hits that put him on the public's radar immediately.

He scored a No. 5 single with "Amazing," from his 2003 debut, "For the Ride Home," that also produced the No. 10 hit "Everybody Wants You." Kelley released his second album "Almost Honest" in 2004, which was well received by critics and topped the Billboard Magazine New Artist Chart upon release. He also wrote and produced his third album, "Just Say the Word," which served as his first DNK Records release in 2006. His work also has been featured on episodes of popular TV shows, including Smallville (""Almost Honest" and "Cain and Able"), the "Scrubs" digital soundtrack, "Brothers and Sisters" ("Opposite of Me"), and "What About Brian" ("Lady of Mine").

Kelley's concert is included with the price of a race ticket and will take place at 4:30 p.m., two hours before the start of the "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Pepsi and Edy's."

The fifth and final 2008 Kentucky Speedway race weekend will feature amazing, high-speed Firestone Indy Lights and IndyCar Series action. The weekend opens with IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights Fanfest Aug. 8. The day begins when gates open at 3:00 p.m., and will include practice and qualifying sessions before closing with a garage-area autograph session with the full field of IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights international driving stars.

Action continues Aug. 9 with an IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights primetime doubleheader on the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway tri-oval. Gates open at 2:00 p.m. Firestone Indy Lights practice begins at 2:30 p.m., and will be followed by an exclusive prerace concert with indie artist Josh Kelley on the Turn 1 Concourse at 4:30 p.m.

Sure-to-be-action-packed open-wheel racing begins with the "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Pepsi and Edy's." The Firestone Indy Lights "Kentucky 100" will take the green flag at 9:15 p.m.
