SPARTA, Ky. - Kentucky Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) hosted its inaugural Night of Giving. Tonight's event was a celebration of the chapter's first opportunity to provide grant funding to local children's organizations in the tri-state area.

The chapter awarded nearly $100,000 in grants to 15 children's organizations in either Kentucky, Ohio or Indiana. The organizations include:

  • Anthony Munoz Foundation
  • Children, Inc.
  • The Children's Home of Cincinnati, Ohio, Inc.
  • Children's Home of Northern Kentucky
  • Clark County Youth Shelter and Family Services, Inc.
  • Dare to Care, Inc.
  • Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati
  • The Dragonfly Foundation
  • Educational Excellence Foundation of Gallatin County, Inc.
  • Faces without Places
  • God's Appalachian Partnership, Inc.
  • Harlan County Boys and Girls Club, Inc.
  • New Perceptions, Inc.
  • Special Olympics Kentucky, Inc.
  • Stepping Stones, Inc.

"We have worked hard to create a presence for our charity in the community and make a foundation to build upon in the future," SCC Kentucky Speedway Chapter director Dayna Winslette said. "Being able to distribute grant funding for the first time in our history is the highlight of 2014. 

 "I would like to extend an enormous thank you to all who secured donations, volunteered for an SCC event or contributed in any way to activities at Kentucky Speedway that benefited our chapter."
