SPARTA, Ky. - The Kentucky Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) will open an online auction at noon Sunday, Sept. 1 featuring an Ultimate Race Experience Package that one lucky fan will enjoy Sept. 21 during NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Kentucky 300 race day along with race-used / autographed memorabilia and more.

The auction launches a busy SCC month during which the chapter also will conduct its annual Laps For Charity event that gives fans the chance to drive their vehicles on the speedway's 1.5-mile tri-oval Sept. 19 in addition to Blue Bucket Brigades that will help raise funds during the speedway's Kentucky 300 and Sept. 20 ARCA Racing (ARS) Series Zloop 150.

The Ultimate Race Day Experience Package will deliver a prerace meeting and pace care ride with action sports phenom and Roush Fenway Racing NNS driver Travis Pastrana Sept. 21, hot passes for the winning bidder and one guest, the experience of waving the green flag during NNS Kentucky 300 qualifying, access to the NNS driver's meeting and a stage-side view of driver introductions.

Additional items that available for bid include:

  • A framed Kentucky Speedway poster autographed by "The Tasmanian Devil," Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 9 Richard Petty Motorsports NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racecar;
  • A Kentucky Speedway flag autographed by ARS legend and team owner Bill Venturini, former ARS driver and current team owner Billy Venturini in addition to drivers Bobby Gerhart, Justin Boston, Tom Hessert, Chase Elliott, Josh Williams, Milka Duno, Will Kimmel, Taylor Ferns, Caleb Armstrong, Brennan Poole and Erik Jones;
  • Used sheet metal from the left rear quarter panel of Brendan Gaughan's South Point Casino car which raced in a NNS event;
  • Cincinnati Bengals game tickets.

Laps for Charity will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Fans will have the chance to be first on the track for the speedway's September doubleheader weekend and drive paced laps in their personal vehicles around the speedway's 1.5-mile tri-oval. Guests also will be able to have their photo taken with their vehicle in the speedway's Victory Lane. The complete experience is available for $40.

The Bluegrass Bucket Brigade will interact with fans during the Zloop 150 and Kentucky 300 race days.

Fans will be able to give donations of any amount to brigade volunteers clad in red SCC t-shirts carrying identifiable blue buckets. Bluegrass Bucket Brigaders will be stationed near Gates 10, 15 and 20 beginning at 3 p.m. each day.
