Kentucky Speedway's Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities partnered with Kroger and Richard Petty Motorsports' No. 43 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) team sponsor Smithfield to donate a combined 20 tons of food to the Emergency Community Food Pantry of Franklin County Kentucky today.

The donation was one of eight made through each member of the Speedway Motorsports, Inc.  facility family in conjunction with Smithfield's Helping Hungry Homes Tour. The company's coast-to-coast effort helps families and individuals become more food secure and  has delivered more than 25.4 million servings of protein to food-assistance organizations across the country.

A secondary beneficiary of today's donation is the Louisville, Ky., Dare to Care Food Bank.

Today's activities precede the arrival of the NSCS for the June 29 Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts. The third series event in Kentucky Speedway history is part of a tripleheader weekend that opens with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225 and also includes the NASCAR Nationwide Series Feed The Children 300.

Race tickets, Fan Zone passes that provide close-up views of Billy Currington's NSCS race-day concert presented by Kroger, driver introductions and more, ticket packages and campsites for all events are on sale now.
