Kentucky Speedway Convenes First Fan Council Meeting
Kentucky Speedway convened its first Fan Council Meeting in conjunction with the Nov. 3 Drive the Track Sale.
“Today was the first meeting of the Fan Council. I have to tell you it was awesome; everything I expected and more. This is an amazing venue. All of us are looking forward to working with the dedicated staff at Kentucky Speedway to enhance the fan experience even more,” Councilor Lauri of Dayton, Ohio.
Fifteen of 17 inaugural council members were able to attend to gain an overview of the body’s mission statement, tour the facility and drive their personal vehicles around the 1.5-mile tri-oval.
“I think I speak for everybody on the council when I say how excited and fortunate we are to be a part of this great experience,” Councilor Gentry of Lexington, Ky., said.
Speedway General Manager Mark Simendinger was pleased with the group’s enthusiasm.
“I urge you to be involved, take ownership in this fan council, take pride in Kentucky Speedway and the initiatives we’d like to pursue. The mission I’m giving you is the same I give our management team, ‘How is Kentucky Speedway going to get better?’ As a team we will continue to grow and evolve. We want you to be part of our growth and help us achieve our goals. We need your insight and feedback,” Simendinger told the council.
The council is scheduled to meet quarterly and will be frequently contacted for input throughout their one-year terms.
