Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank will be the "Official Bank of Kentucky Speedway" through 2008 under the terms of a new three-year joint marketing venture.

Fifth Third plans to activate its partnership by implementing co-operative marketing initiatives, in conjunction with the Kentucky Speedway, designed to reach consumers with a passion for racing.

"We are delighted to welcome the tri-state's number one banking institution to our sponsorship team," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. "We're looking forward to building incremental brand value for Fifth Third among our fan base and executing strategic co-op tactics that will bolster interest in our events and venue."

The bank operates 19 affiliates with more than 1,100 full-service locations in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and West Virginia. Robert A. Sullivan, president of Fifth Third Bank (Cincinnati), said, "We are proud to be the official bank sponsor of the Kentucky Speedway. This partnership enables us to be a part of a great racing venue in the Tri-state and to work collaboratively with the speedway on joint projects of benefit to both organizations."

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
