Kentucky Speedway has named 2002 Miss Kentucky Mary Catherine Correll grand marshal and Belterra Casino Resort Vice President and General Manager Alain Uboldi honorary starter of the August 11 "Belterra Casino Indy 300."

The 21-year-old Correll, of Somerset, Ky., is a senior at the University of Kentucky studying to be a pediatric dentist. She is currently earning a bachelor's degree in biology and attending the Kentucky College of Dentistry. Her appearance at Kentucky Speedway will come three weeks prior to her participation in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, N.J. In addition to her involvement in numerous academic and civic organizations at the university, Correll is an advocate for the National Marrow Donor Program.

Uboldi begins his second year as vice president and general manager of Belterra Casino Resort. He brings more than 30 years of gaming industry management and consulting experience to his position. Uboldi, a native of Monaco, gained international experience in Paris, France, and Monte Carlo before moving to the United States and working in Atlantic City, N.J. and Las Vegas. "We're proud and honored that both Mary Catherine and Alain will be helping us celebrate a great day of Indy Racing League action at Kentucky Speedway," Kentucky Speedway General Manager and Vice President Mark F. Cassis said.

Kentucky Speedway opens its fourth and final weekend of the season with the NASCAR Hills Bros. All Pro Series and IRL qualifying on "84 WHAS AM 150 & Pole Day" on Saturday, August 10. The "WHAS 150" begins at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by Indy Racing Infiniti Pro Series qualifying and IRL qualifying for "The Belterra Casino Indy 300." Speedway gates open at 10:00 a.m.

The action continues on Sunday, August 11, with the IRL "Belterra Casino Indy 300" and the Kentucky Speedway debut of the Indy Racing Infiniti Pro Series in "The Kentucky 100." Speedway gates open at 8:00 a.m. "The Kentucky 100" begins at 11:00 a.m., and the green flag drops for "The Belterra Casino Indy 300 at 1:30 p.m.

The first 15,000 fans to enter the speedway on Sunday, August 11, will receive one of three bobbleheads depicting league drivers Buddy Lazier, Sam Hornish, Jr., and Al Unser, Jr. Also, throughout the weekend, fans will be able to register to win one of two Official Kentucky Speedway "Belterra Casino Indy 300" 2002 Ford Mustang GT pace cars to be given away by the title sponsor.
