Kentucky Speedway To Promote "Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby" In Cincinnati And Louisville Markets
Kentucky Speedway and ClearChannel will play co-host to advance screenings of Columbia Pictures' NASCAR-themed "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" in Cincinnati and Louisville, Ky., August 2-3. The film opens nationally on Aug. 4.
All Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) ever wanted to do was go fast … real fast. Columbia Pictures' comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby tells the story of a dreamer who can only count to No. 1. After winning and losing it all, Ricky Bobby must claw his way back to the top the only way he knows how — the hard way.
Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Sacha Baron Cohen, Gary Cole and Michael Clarke Duncan star in Columbia Pictures' Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, which is directed by Adam McKay and written by Will Ferrell & Adam McKay. Jimmy Miller and Judd Apatow are the producers. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay David Householter, Richard Glover, Sarah Nettinga and Ryan Kavanaugh are the executive producers. The supporting cast includes Leslie Bibb, Jane Lynch, Amy Adams, Andy Richter, Molly Shannon, Greg Germann, David Koechner, Jack McBrayer and Ian Roberts.

Kentucky Speedway's final race weekend of 2006 will be August 12-13 when Indy Racing League IndyCar Series and Indy Pro Series bring high-speed open-wheel action to the 1.5-mile tri-oval track in Sparta, Ky. Saturday, August 12 is "97.5 WAMZ-FM Pole Day" and features practice sessions and qualifying for both series. Sunday, August 13 will showcase the Indy Pro Series "WAMZ 100" at 12:30 p.m. and the IndyCar Series "Meijer 300 Presented by Coca-Cola and Secret" at 3:45 p.m.
The speedway also will host a one-night-only "Summer Night Jam 2006" concert featuring Alan Jackson, Big & Rich, Merle Haggard, Shannon Brown and Deana Carter August 5.
