Kentucky Speedway announces the promotion of Dan Stuart to director of sales.

He will be responsible for creating and executing strategic sales and marketing programs for group tickets, event hospitality, corporate suites, track signage and program ads in Greater Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington, Ky., Dayton, Ohio, and Indianapolis, Ind., markets.

"In our first seasons, we've established Kentucky Speedway as one of finest motorsports facilities in the country for entertainment and marketing opportunities. I want to continue to provide our national and regional corporate clients with a high quality venue where they can entertain customers and employees, as well as gain exposure for their products through a variety of marketing options such as product sampling, signage and souvenir program ads," Stuart said.

Stuart joined Kentucky Speedway as sales representative in January 2001. He brings more than 20 years experience in sales, marketing and product management experience to his new position. Before joining the speedway, Stuart gained six years of experience as a product supervisor and national account manager with Case DMI Corporation of Goodfield, Ill. "This season, I look forward to securing new clients which have not been previously involved with Kentucky Speedway," Stuart added.

Kentucky Speedway is a $152-million state-of-the-art racing facility located in Sparta, Ky., approximately 35 miles southwest of Cincinnati. The speedway features a 1.5-mile tri-oval and paved quarter-mile short track. Kentucky Speedway's 2002 race schedule will feature four NASCAR sanctioned series, an Indy Racing League event, two and ARCA RE/MAX Series events and three short-track events.

In 2001, the speedway set a Greater Cincinnati sports event attendance record by attracting more than 70,000 to its NASCAR Busch Series race. A total 360,000 fans visited the speedway last season, a 20 percent increase from its inaugural year.
