Cincinnati NBC affiliate WLWT-TV 5 will sponsor the annual July pole event at Kentucky Speedway through 2007 under the terms of a new three-year marketing partnership announced today.

The first "WLWT-TV 5 Pole Night" is scheduled for July 8, 2005, and will feature a 150-mile ARCA RE/MAX Series race and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying for the July 9 "Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers." The Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc., station has partnered with the speedway since 2002 to present 155-mile and 205-mile ARCA RE/MAX Series events.

"We are very proud of our relationship with Channel 5. This NBC affiliate has truly localized the enthusiasm and marketing power surrounding its national NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series broadcasts by activating this partnership with Kentucky Speedway," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. "Having the Channel 5 team with us for at least three more years will be terrific."

Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. The station will receive facility signage, advertising, a luxury suite and grandstand tickets as part of the partnership.

Kentucky Speedway will announce its full 2005 race schedule at a future date.
