Frank Kimmel took his second consecutive ARCA RE/MAX Series Old Milwaukee Pole Award at Kentucky Speedway ™ this afternoon after turning a field-fastest lap of 170.946 mph in the No. 46 Advanced Auto Parts-Pork Producers Ford.

"It was a pretty good run today," Kimmel said. "It was the fastest lap we have ever turned here. We thought that we could go even quicker, but the track was so slick, we decided to a little conservative. We'll throw that out the window tomorrow."

The pole win is Kimmel's fifth this season. Chase Montgomery was the second-best qualifier in the No. 6 Montgomery-Peterson Chevrolet with a lap time of 169.619 followed by Jason Jarrett in third with a lap time of 168.676 in the No. 67 Biomet-Damon Chevrolet. In all, five machines turned in laps over 167 mph.

Kimmel won the May 12 ARCA RE/MAX Series "Kentucky 150" from the pole after winning the qualifying session with a lap of 169.460 mph. The green flag drops for the "Blue Grass Quality Meats 200" tomorrow evening, July 13, at 9:00 p.m. following the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Cincinnati Enquirer and Post Pole Night for Saturday's "Kroger 225."
