Lapham To Serve As Grand Marshal
Dave Lapham, one of Cincinnati's most respected and knowledgeable sports analysts, will serve as Grand Marshal of "The Channel 5-205" ARCA RE/MAX Series race on Saturday, May 8.
Lapham is most identifiable as the enthusiastic color analyst of the Cincinnati Bengals Radio Network. He will be in the radio booth for his 19th season with the team this year. Since last fall, he has applied his talents in the WLWT-TV Channel 5 sports department, serving as a reporter/analyst and co-host of "Bengals Breakdown."
"This is a big honor. I'm built more like a pit crew member than a driver and I know all about the importance of speed. It's an unteachable talent on the football field and I respect the time and effort these drivers and teams take to prepare their cars to be the best in their class," Lapham said. "I'm looking forward to hearing and feeling the engines fire for 'The Channel 5-205' on Saturday."
Prior to his broadcasting career, Lapham spent 12 years playing professional football. Drafted out of Syracuse University in 1974, he played on the Bengals offensive line for 10 years and was a valuable member of the 1982 Super Bowl team. He then joined the USFL and Donald Trump's New Jersey Generals.
In addition to his television and radio duties in Cincinnati, Lapham is the lead analyst for the BIG 12 football Game of the Week on Fox Sports Net. He also has served as an analyst for nationally broadcast NFL games on NBC and FOX.
