For the third consecutive season, the drivers of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will move from the racing oval to the softball diamond in Kentucky to do battle with their counterparts from Speed Channel.

The annual softball challenge will be held on the women's softball field at Northern Kentucky University near Cincinnati on Thurs., July 10 at 6 p.m. Admission is free, and fans are invited to come out and cheer for their favorite NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers.

The game kicks off the weekend's events at Kentucky Speedway, where the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will race in "The Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by The Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers" on Sat., July 12 at 8 p.m.

"This has become a tradition for us, and I think the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers and the fans love it every year," said Rick Crawford, driver of the No. 14 Circle Bar Motel & RV Park Ford. "The game is cool because instead of beating and banging on each other, we're working as a team for a common goal - to beat Speed Channel.

"Speed has been a great partner for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season. I just hope they're a good opponent on the softball field because not only is the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series tough on the track, but also we're tough on the field."

Craftsman, the Official Tools of NASCAR, has sponsored the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series since it began in 1995.
