SPARTA, Ky. - Director of Business Development Brooks Neal has been selected Kentucky Speedway's 2013 Salesperson of the Year after generating a more than 80 percent increase in new and incremental business.

In just his second year with the speedway, Neal continues to sell sponsorships, advertising, corporate entertainment while developing and managing promotional programs.

"I am so very proud of Brooks. In a relatively short time, he has demonstrated the sales leadership and work ethic needed to help Kentucky Speedway be successful. Brooks was responsible for partnering with an array of new and non-endemic companies. He is an important part of our sales team and very deserving of this honor," Kentucky Speedway Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Cox stated.

In addition to the recognition, Neal will be rewarded with a trip to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards (NSCS) Ceremony at Wynn Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., Dec. 6

Neal is a 2006 graduate of Syracuse University in his hometown of Syracuse, N.Y., where he competed on lacrosse teams which captured the 2004 and 2002 NCAA National Championships, appeared in three NCAA National Championship Final Fours as well as four NCAA tournaments.

He also earned a master's degree from the prestigious Ohio University Center for Sports Administration.

Prior to joining Kentucky Speedway, Neal created and implemented marketing programs and managed outbound ticket sales as the Ohio University Athletic Department director of marketing.

Kentucky Speedway's 2014 season opens in June. Defending Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts champion Matt Kenseth will battle 2012 NSCS champion and Kentucky Speedway race winner Brad Keselowski, inaugural Kentucky Speedway NSCS race winnner Kyle Busch along with fellow stars Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and more in prime time June 28. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) UNOH 225 will open the tripleheader weekend June 26 and racing will continue June 27 with a 300-mile NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) 300 mile race. The NNS will make a return Kentucky visit for a 300-mile event Sept. 20.
