Rookie Tony Renna led the Indy Racing League's final practice session at Kentucky Speedway this morning with a fastest lap time of 220.766 mph, bettering his qualifying time of 219.156 mph from yesterday.

The top practice time did not threaten Sarah Fisher's history making pole lap of 221.390 mph posted yesterday afternoon when she became the first woman in open wheel racing history to win a pole award. Renna posted a fastest practice time of 222.707 mph posted in an earlier practice session.

Renna will start on the outside of Row 6 for this afternoon's Indy Racing League "Belterra Casino Indy 300."

Last season's "Betlerra Casino Indy 300" pole winner, Scott Sharp, was second fastest in the final practice session with a fastest lap of 220.588 mph. Team Penske driver and two-time Indy 500 champ Helio Castroneves was third fastest with a lap of 220.493 mph, while Red Bull Team Cheever teammates Tomas Scheckter and Buddy Rice rounded out the top five with respective fastest laps of 220.455 mph and 220.336 mph.

The green flag drops for the "Belterra Casino Indy 300" at 1:30 p.m. at Kentucky Speedway. Tickets are available at the speedway's main ticket office at Gate 16 until race time.
