For tri-state race fans who ever wondered what it would be like to drive their own car on a super speedway, Saturday March 31st they will get that chance. Kentucky Speedway, through a promotion at their on-site Gift Shop is once again offering a special "Drive the Track Sale". For fans who purchase $40 or more of merchandise at the Kentucky Speedway Gift Shop they will also get a two-lap experience of a lifetime.

This is the second DRIVE THE TRACK event offered at Kentucky Speedway. The first one was on December 2nd, 2000. Despite a cold winter day the response was a big success. "It was nice. Fans have called and e-mailed us regularly wanting to drive the track. So, we got together with our Operations Director Andy Vertrees to secure track time and Helen Evancie, our Gift Shop Manager, to put together a daylong program. It was an early Christmas present!" said Mark F. Cassis, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Kentucky Speedway.

This was one of the many ways the fan friendly track is reaching out to fans. In 2001, Kentucky Speedway is offering a 4-race weekend/10 race schedule. In addition, driving schools, concerts and special events will also be part of the track's calendar.
