Univ. of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center (UKCMC) announces the appointment of Dr. Seth Stearley as Kentucky Speedway medical director.

Dr. Stearley replaces former director Dr. Troy Rock, who served the track for three seasons. Dr. Stearley will oversee the UKCMC site staff during all race events and work closely with the Kentucky Speedway Fire and Safety Team, directed by Charles Williams. "Since its inception, our Kentucky Speedway Fire and Safety Team has taken pride in delivering the best possible care in the motorsports industry and our medical director is a vital part of the program.

"Dr. Stearley has worked as an Infield Care Center physician since 2005, so he is no stranger to the inner workings of our program. He is excited to be part of our program and I have no doubt he will be a valuable asset to Kentucky Speedway," Williams said.

Dr. Stearley graduated from the Indiana Univ. School of Medicine in 2004 and has been with the UKCMC Emergency Dept. since July of that year.

The UKCMC has been the "Official Medical Services Provider of Kentucky Speedway" since the facility opened in 2000. UKCMC provides emergency physicians, nurses and technicians that administer medical care to race competitors, pit crews and fans.
