Kentucky Speedway will become the first motorsports venue in the country to distribute fan-friendly Fanbanas when the track plays host to the June 17 NASCAR Busch Series "Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo" race.

The speedway will distribute 70,000 green, hand-held, plastic scrolling banners that read "Go Racing!" to the sellout crowd expected for the event. Fans will be encouraged to display their Fanbanas at the start of the race and at each race restart.

Fanbanas measure 24-inches wide and 9.5-inches high. The popular fan premium will be sponsored by Team Tylenol, Tickets.com, WLWT-TV Channel 5 in Cincinnati and Ragu.

"We have always been on the cutting edge when it comes to creating fan premiums for our events," Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. "We've created bobble head dolls, rally towels, and now, we'll be the first motorsports venue in the country to offer Fanbanas. It will be exciting to see more than 70,000 people holding up green 'Go Racing!' banners at the start of the 'Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo.'"

The $152-million, 66,089-seat facility expects to attract its sixth consecutive sellout crowd for a NASCAR Busch Series race and has attracted an average crowd of 70,686 for its previous five series events.

The 2006 Kentucky Speedway season opens May 13 and will feature four race weekends. Main events will feature ARCA RE/MAX Series, NASCAR Busch Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Indy Racing League IndyCar Series races. Support events will spotlight the new USAC Silver Crown Series, ARCA RE/MAX Series, USAC Ford Focus Midget Car Series and IRL IndyPro Series. All race weekends will include a race day concert with top country music talent.
