Kentucky Speedway opens a full weekend of open-wheel race action today when IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights competitors take to the 1.5-mile tri-oval for practice and qualifying sessions before greeting fans during this evening's Fanfest autograph session.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m., with IndyCar Series practice. Firestone Indy Lights drivers will fight for the "Kentucky 100" pole award at 5:00 p.m., and IndyCar Series "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Pepsi and Edy's" qualifying follows at 6:15 p.m. Infield Fanfest games and race-related activities begin at 7:30 p.m.

All IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights drivers will close out the evening with a one-hour autograph session that gets under way at 8:00 p.m. Fanfest fun continues until 9:00 p.m.

The fifth and final weekend of the 2008 Kentucky Speedway season rolls on tomorrow with an IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights primetime doubleheader on the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway tri-oval.

The "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Pepsi and Edy's" field will feature defending event champion Tony Kanaan, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner and "Dancing with the Stars" champ Helio Castroneves, current series championship leader Scott Dixon, fan favorites Sarah Fisher and Danica Patrick as well as IndyCar Series legacies Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal.

The Firestone Indy Lights "Kentucky 100" will spotlight the next chapter a tight three-way championship battle. Richard Antinucci, the nephew of former Indianapolis 500 winner Eddie Cheever, leads second-place championship driver Raphael Matos by one point and third-place driver Ana Beatriz by 44 points. Beatriz became the first woman to win a Firestone Indy Lights race earlier this season on July 12 at Nashville Superspeedway.

Gates open at 2:00 p.m., tomorrow and an exclusive prerace concert with indie artist Josh Kelley starts at 4:30 p.m., on the Turn 1 Concourse. Sure-to-be-action-packed open-wheel racing begins at 6:30 p.m., with the "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Pepsi and Edy's." The Firestone Indy Lights "Kentucky 100" field will take the green flag at 9:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the speedway main entrance on race day.
