August 24, 2000 - Children from seven residential treatment facilities in Northern Kentucky will be guests of Kentucky Speedway for Sunday's Belterra Resort Indy 300. Around 150 children will receive tickets to the race and be treated to lunch courtesy of Outback Steakhouse in the Infield Catering Center at the Speedway.

"The Speedway is something we hear so much about in the community, especially because it is the inaugural season," said Tricia Fries, the Development Director for the Children's Home of Northern Kentucky. "For these children to be a part of that is really special."

In addition to the Children's Home of Northern Kentucky, children from the Brighton Center for Independent Living, Campbell Lodge Boys Home, Christian Church Homes of Northern Kentucky, Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, Holly Hill Children's Services and Maplewood Children's Home will attend the race. All those agencies provide homes for children who have been abused or neglected and suffer emotional, behavioral or social problems.

Sunday's race will get underway at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-652-RACE.
