Sports personality Bob Trumpy and "Belterra Casino Indy 300" pace car contest winner Barbara Holzderber, of Newport, Ky., recently turned laps today Kentucky Speedway's 1.5-mile tri-oval.

Trumpy was a prize pupil of the Richard Petty Driving Experience, which will continue to teach students the finer points of stock car driving through Monday, Sept. 17 at the speedway. An Illinois native who watched and drove go karts as a child, Trumpy's eight-lap trip helped him satisfy a life long stock car curiousity.

"This is something I've always wanted to do," the NBC Sports analyst, radio personality and former Cincinnati Bengal said. "I'm signed up to take eight laps, but I'd take 100 if they'd let me."

The day held a different flavor for Holzderber, who won the fully-decaled Ford Mustang Pace Car used to set the field of the Indy Racing Northern Light Series "Belterra Casino Indy 300" in August.

Belterra Casino held the contest during the month of August and awarded Holzderber the car last week. She had a front row seat for the prize drawing. "They pulled the entry and paused after reading the first name 'Barbara'," she said. "When they paused, I knew had a good chance of winning because they were probably trying to figure out how to pronounce my last name." Holzderber and members of her family took a one-of-a-kind, three-lap test drive on the track and visited the speedway's Victory Lane.
