Thirty-five-year-old Venezuelan female racer Milka Duno announced today she will be part of the IndyCar Series field at Kentucky Speedway Aug. 11.

The event will be one of 10 Duno is schedule to drive this season. She will pilot the No. 23 CITGO Racing / SAMAX Motorsport Dallara/Honda/Firestone owned by Peter Baron.

The U.S. Navy-trained engineer will bring considerable sports car racing experience to the IndyCar Series after competing in the American Le Mans and Grand American Series events in past seasons. Duno will make her series debut in this season's Indianapolis 500. She also is scheduled to compete in events at Texas Motor Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Nashville Superspeedway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Michigan International Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway.
