The Owensboro, Ky., native authored "In the Blink of an Eye" to mark the 10th anniversary of his 2001 Daytona 500 victory. The work is a minute-by-minute account of a day that saw him break a 462-race winless streak in the Sprint Cup Series' most prestigious event, only to learn moments later of the tragic loss of his car owner and seven-time Sprint Cup Series champion mentor Dale Earnhardt following his involvement in a closing-laps accident. Waltrip also manages The Michael Waltrip Comedy Garage tour, which is in its second season. The tour features top-flight comedic talents such as John Reep, Henry Cho and Tim Wilson in addition to standup performances by Waltrip.

Waltrip's primary business focus is guiding his five-year-old Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) which fields NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entries for drivers Martin Truex Jr., and David Reutimann. Waltrip also plays a key leadership role in the newly-formed Pastrana-Waltrip Racing team which fields NASCAR Nationwide Series entries driven by action sports star Travis Pastrana, Gary and Blake Bechtel along with Truex, Jr., and his brother Ryan.

Waltrip is scheduled to pilot his No. 15 machine in Kentucky Speedway's inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series "Quaker State 400" on July 9. The historic event anchors a tripleheader NASCAR weekend at Kentucky Speedway made up of the July NASCAR 7 Camping World Truck Series "UNOH 225" and the July 8 NASCAR Nationwide Series "Feed The Children 300." Tickets for all events remain available and can be reserved by clicking TICKETS, by phone at 888-652-7223 or by visiting the speedway corporate offices at 1 Speedway Drive in Sparta, Ky., 41086.

Proceeds from the KFK party and golf classic benefit KFK, the charity founded by former Cincinnati Bengal kicker Doug Pelfrey in 1995 to level the playing field for local children at risk. Joined by another former Bengal kicker Jim Breech, Pelfrey and his KFK board of directors have invested more than $1.8 million into positively impacting more than 45,000 children at risk through original programs and organizational partnerships.

A limited number of foursomes, each of which includes eight tickets to the Pairings Party, for the 17th Annual KFK Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Walmart held at Triple Crown Country Club can be reserved by contacting Ted Kluemper at (859) 331-8484.
