The Oldham County, Kentucky tandem of Sergeant Neil Johnson and Detective Todd Lindner took team honors while Kenton County Chief Spike Jones raced to the individual title in the fifth Magpul Top Cop Challenge at Kentucky Speedway.

Lindner paced team Oldham County to its second event title with a 159.51 mph. lap and joined Johnson in posting a best combined speed of 315.21 mph. Chief Jones emerged atop a field of 16 officers representing eight jurisdictions with a 158.19 mph. lap to defend his individual title.

The speedway created the friendly competition to thank regional law enforcement for its efforts toward making the venue's race events successful in addition to officers' year-round public safety initiatives.

Police officers representing the City of Cincinnati, Butler County, Ohio, Hamilton County, Ohio, Jeffersontown, Kentucky, Gallatin County, Kentucky, Oldham County, Kentucky, Kenton County, Kentucky, and the Kentucky State Police drove NASCAR Racing Experience cars for eight laps. Two-officer teams that generated the fastest cumulative time determined the team title. The officers with the three fastest individual times were eligible to race for Top Cop honors.

This year's Top Cop Chief Jones, will be recognized during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts pre-race ceremonies Saturday, July 8.

The winning officers earned Magpul prizes, and the team of Oldham County also earned July 8 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts tickets to be distributed to needy families in the team's community.

The Camping World Truck Series starts the July weekend with the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 on Thursday, July 6 and the XFINITY Series Alsco 300 is Friday, July 7.

The General Tire Super Weekend returns in September when the XFINITY Series VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 is run on Saturday, Sept. 23 along with the ARCA Racing Series Crosley 150 on Friday, Sept. 22.
